ASUS goes green!!!

In the wake of climate change and global warming , I expected hell a lot of innovations from the computer world to reduce the CO2 emission ,but this innovation took me by surprise-a bamboo notebook or laptop!!!Yes you read it right “bamboo notebook”.
ASUS technologies(India) has launched these bamboo notebooks.It is said to be completely within the limits of Restriction of Hazardous Substance(RoHS) and Waste Electrical And Electronic Equipment(WEEE) standards. The laptop weighs just 1.57 kg and comes with a super hybrid engine extendin battery life by 35 to 70% compared to other notebooks,it also reduces CO2 emission by 12.3 kg a piece. Quite mind boggling innovation isn’t it!!!!The company has shipped 6 million pieces so far thus working up to reduction of whopping 73 million Kg CO2 emission equal to saving 36 million trees!!!!
As expected the cost is quite mind boggling too a whopping Rs 1,10,000 in India!!!
